Microsoft Teams Cheat Sheet
Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) is a tool used at EDUCAUSE for communicating externally with outside partners and vendors. While not an officially supported tool as part of our Service Catalogue, our Acceptable Use Policy on Instant Messaging found in ADP also covers MS Teams usage. Below you will find a few basic tips and tricks for using MS Teams.
Joining Meetings
From the Teams client or Outlook, open the meeting invite on your calendar

Select “Click here to join” to join the meeting

Microphone and Camera Controls
After you click on Join Meeting, you will see your options for Microphone and Camera

Here you can turn your camera on and off, select a background filter (like blurred background), as well as select your headset. When ready to join the meeting and after you have tested your Audio and Video, click Join Now in the bottom right.
Screen Sharing Controls
Once the meeting has started, click the Share Content button in the top right of the Teams client

On the next screen you will see the following options

You can share your Screen, or specific windows (like Powerpoint) and choose whether to include computer sound or not.
In Meeting Chat
To open the In Meeting Chat for Teams select “Show Conversation” on the top of the Teams client.

This will open the meeting chat side panel.

From here you can see the chat and send messages or reactions to others in the meeting.
